This course will provide you with basic knowledge of the principles of pharmacoepidemiology and enable you to analyse pharmacoepidemiological data and evaluate sources of error. You will be introduced to cohort and case control studies and learn how to use best practices in pharmacoepidemiological studies.   Content
The programe includes:

·         Basic Epidemiological Principles
·         Epidemiological Analysis Methods, including Cohort and Case-Control Studies
·         Sources of Error in Epidemiological Studies
·         Analysis of Epidemiological Data
·         Phase 4 Studies – Data Sources and Design

In preparation for the course, students are required to read one article. Lecturer(s)

The course is aimed at employees with an academic background, relevant experience and current employment within the fields of pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical drugs and/or product registration. Students should have one year of relevant experience in clinical controversies and risk assessment in connection with medical treatment – either from a clinic or the pharmaceutical industry.

Language:
English, unless all participants are Danish.

 

Participants should be able to read medical articles in English and prossess a basic knowledge of statistics. Further, participants should preferably have one year of relevant experience in clinical controversies and risk assessment in connection with medical treatmene - etiher from a clinic or from the pharmaceutical industry.
